join to first st in round with a sl st (22 dc). Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing the mouth area onto the hat.
Using your black yarn, sew a nose and mouth onto the mouth circle area. I've found that the mouth and nose show up better if you use two strands of black yarn.

Finishing
Sew the eyes, ears, an mouth onto your hat
Hair (optional)
In your accent color cut about one hundred and thirty six, 6 inch strips of yarn. Fold yarn in half and attach 2-3 strands of yarn around each double crochet along the first three rounds of front side of the hat and the first two rounds of the back of the hat. You may need to add more yarn to the top of the hat so your llama does not have a bald spot. Once all of the yarn is attached, fray the yarn and give your llama a hair cut.
Braids (optional)
For each ear flap cut eight 32 inch long strips of yarn in the accent color and four 32 inch long strips of yarn in your main color. Fold yarn in half and attach to the bottom of the ear flap. You should now have a total of 24 strands of yarn. Divide the yarn into three sections (8 strands each). Braid the yarn to desired length, knot, and trim the ends.
